Read-In Friday - We will have a read-in on Friday's half day to celebrate the end of the trimester. Students may wear pajamas and bring something to cuddle(blanket and stuffed animal) while reading. 


Math: Last week, we completed unit 5. This week, we will review on Monday and take the assessment on Tuesday. We will then begin unit 6/lessons 1 & 2. Extra practice at home using the IXL textbook will be helpful to reinforce these essential standards, especially for those who struggle. Additional IM resources(the workbook we use) can be found HERE.


Shoes & Boots: Due to the mud and wet conditions, students need to bring boots and a pair of shoes to school to change into after recess. Thanks for your help with this!


Ms. V's Learner Behavior Post: Here is what we have been doing in SEL the past two weeks.  

Things to remember daily:

  • water bottle 
  • safe snack(in the package with the label please)
  • good fit book with bookmark

Tuesday - PE
Wednesday - Late Start
Thursday - Music
Friday - Art; Half Day- End of 2nd Trimester

Birthdays - Students bringing in treats for birthdays must stick to the safe snacks list. Homemade treats are not allowed. Store-bought items must be sent to me ahead of time. Please include a picture of the front of the package/container and the label on the back. We have nut, egg, and dairy allergies in our room. Thanks!

Due to the later lunchtime, students are encouraged to bring a larger snack from the safe snack list.                                                                 Laps for Lincoln:  Collection days are Monday, Wednesday, & Friday again this week. Positive behavior and donations are helping kids earn backpack charms like last year. The main event will be this Friday, September 29th from 5:00-7:00 at SJHS. Hope to see you all there! NWEA  testing is complete for the fall! We are using this information to set goals in our student-led conference slides that you will see in October! Student Council - Next week 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will hear about student council on the news. They will be able to complete a Google form if they are interested in running to be their classroom representative.                                                           Happy Labor Day!  We had an exciting and successful first week of school! It's been wonderful getting to know each student and learning procedures to help build a stronger classroom community! Each student should have a "good fit" book in his or her backpack. 4th graders are encouraged to read for 20 minutes or more at home each night. Once the reading is finished, students need to record the minutes and pages read. Please sign your initials on the bookmark. The bookmark is not intended to be a reading log. Research does not support the use of reading logs to promote life-long readers. It's meant to track each child's reading rate to ensure they are finishing the books they start.
