January 16 - 19

NWEA: We will be taking the NWEA reading test on Wednesday morning. Please note that this is not a late start. We will begin testing at 9:00. We will take the NWEA math test the following week on the 23rd and 24th in the morning. Please try to avoid absences in the AM on those days. Jolly ranchers and sugar-free gum will be allowed during testing. Thanks!
Math: Last week, we were supposed to take the assessment on unit 4. Due to the snow day, we will take the assessment Tuesday after a brief review. This week, we will start unit 5 and complete lessons 1-3. Extra practice at home using the IXL textbook will be helpful to reinforce these essential standards, especially for those who struggle. Additional IM resources(the workbook we use) can be found HERE.
Shoes & Boots: Due to the mud and wet conditions, students need to bring boots and a pair of shoes to school to change into after recess. An extra pair of socks and gloves would also be helpful! All snow & cold weather gear is essential every day. Thanks for your help with this!
Ice Skating: We will be walking to the John & Dee Dee Howard Ice Arena to ice skate on Friday from 8:55-9:35. Parents are welcome to meet us there! The PTO provides the skating and hot chocolate afterward! We will leave at 8:40, so it's important that everyone is on time to school and dressed for the weather.
Ms. V's Learner Behavior Post: Here is what we have been doing in SEL the past two weeks.
